How Far Will This Get Us From Here

Rebecca is taking a cake decorating class. Here is the first cake she did for her class.

Caleb's Christening. (I snapped this photo before I was told that photos were not allowed.)

On to the after-party. Katie B. still trying to win the "Favorite Auntie" award.

The Dudes.

The Dames.

Rebecca and I rented a cabin for a few days up in Linville, NC. The weather was warm but there was still snow on the ground.

There was a little creek in the front yard.

While we were up there I asked Rebecca to marry me.
She said, "Yes."

The Noise Above Me Is Steady (Xmas Part 2)

After spending some time with Rebecca's family in Charlotte, we hopped on a plane for Austin, Texas to visit her two older sisters and their family's.

Dad was in town for a visit as well. A father and his girls.

All the nieces and nephews were there and lots of Rock Band was played.

Upon our arrival, I was informed that the second annual Talent Show would take place in two days. I started preparing immediately.

Paige and Gretchen telling jokes.

Kate, Rebecca, and Brett doing a magic show.

The return of The Great Fantabulo and her Lion Tamer!

Gretchen, Brett and Kate acting out a story.

Gretchen and Rachel did some dancing with the help of two special guests...

Jack and I provided some surprise entertainment.

The show ended with an all-cousin dance routine.

Then it was time to relax and enjoy the rest of the trip.

You are the Center of the Circle (Xmas Part 1)

It has been sometime since my last update. A lot has happened since then so I will post the holiday happenings in 3 parts.

As the house exchanged gifts, it became clear that some of us are more artistic than others. Rebecca got a Grey Hubbard original.

Rebecca has been working with clay lately. Rob got a climbing rope and quickdraw magnet.

Grey got an AC Green jersey magnet.

Sabrina got a frog ornament.

My Mom loves cardinals so Rebecca got her a little tree and decorated it with clay cardinals.

I missed out on this year's cookie party but a few were brought home to me. Bacon and eggs.

Soul patch dude.

Squid art.

The Carolina Inn had a gingerbread house village on display.

Golden Grahams roof shingles.

My personal favorite.

Meet the newest member of the Barnes Street family. This is La-a (pronounced La dash a) and we love her.

I Don't Need To But I Want To

There were a lot of birthdays to celebrate in late October/early November. After Grey's B-Day, Katie organized a surprise party for Brennan.

Once again, Kari made a kick-ass cake. For those of you who can't tell, that is Brennan playing disc golf.

There was a pirate theme or maybe it was just an excuse for Vijay to dress up.

Brennan got destroyed by Silly String as soon as he walked into the house.

Keeping with tradition, Jaxon helped blow out the candles.

A few days later, a group of us were planning to meet to make a cake for Kari's surprise party. Just an hour before we started, Kari showed up unexpectedly with Jaxon to drop off more treats.

Jaxon gave me a yoga lesson. Here he is showing me how to do Warrior.

Then we had to get Kari and Jaxon out of the house before everyone came over to decorate her surprise cake.

Look at that beautiful disaster!

Midnight showing of New Moon. Go ahead, make fun of me, I'm ok with it.

Of course I was the only guy in our group.

Next up was Rebecca's birthday. This "Kari creation" was a vegan ice cream cake with a chocolate ganosh topping and cookie crust. Wow!

The girls watched a strange video on the web. Go ahead, ask 'em about it.

You can't deny the fact that Grey has got style.

We topped off the night by playing some cards.
