It Meant So Much More Than Just Cheeseballs

Miss Amity had a birthday party weekend in the mountains of western North Carolina. Here are some photos of the rain soaked weekend.

The birthday girl herself enjoying a large beverage from Sonic. "I like the ice." she says.

Jeff and Merideth drove in from Knoxville with a guitar and fun socks.

Each couple was responsible for a meal. James made a noodle stir fry and dumplings this night but Frank and Elizabeth's pumpkin pancakes were a favorite of mine. Actually everyone's meals were great except for my weak pancakes.

It started with 4 girls on a bed....

and it ended with all 8 of us acting like sardines.

This was the view from the cabin the next morning.

The rain kept us inside playing games most of the day. I'm not any better at Connect 4 now then I was when I was 8.

People were starting to get cabin fever so canoes and kayaks were taking out in the rain.

Rebecca ready to battle some class IV rapids....or calm flatwater.

Amity taught us a short cut when doing long division. So much easier!

The girls.

Pictures never do a good dance party justice. If you look closely you will see some serious ass-shakin'.

On the way back to Carrboro I stopped in Asheville to have dinner with two friends from college whom I haven't seen in more than 5 years. Katie and Jason "Tiger" De Los Santos moved to NC from Tampa about a year ago and are still adjusting to not sweating year round.

Went to see Rick Froberg's new band Obits play at the Local 506. Never having had the chance to see Hot Snakes or Drive Like Jehu, this was the next best thing.

That's The Kind of Smack That Leaves a Bruise

First nice day in awhile for a bike ride. Scott and Catherine.

Krankin and Brennan

Everybody was kung-fu fighting.

Lamont and I like to watch skate videos together.

Lamont needs some Head and Shoulders shampoo.

Rebecca and I went to support two of her friends that were getting "auctioned off" to raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness. This is Jamie with host Mary K. Mart.

Kevin tempting the crowd with a little skin.

I was lucky enough to be given tickets for the UNC vs NC State basketball game. (The next couple of photos are dedicated to Rebecca Rutkowski and the little Tarheel-To-Be.)

My boyfriend, Tyler Hansbrough.

Our seats were really good. Thanks again Lizzie and Dan!

UNC won 89-80.

Before an afternoon hike, Rebecca and I stopped by the playground.

I'm Not Saying It Happens Like This

Year In Review

Here are some of my favorite photos, some posted and some not posted, of 2008.

I wanted to see how long I could go with trimming my beard. The answer: about 4 months. I could have gone longer but I was going to see Rebecca's father for the first time as "her boyfriend" and I didn't think this shaggy mess would go over too well. I know it is not the biggest beard in history but it is big for me.

Not too sure what Liam was looking at but I just like that he set up his tent away from the rest of us and chose to eat by himself.

Charlie "King Kong" Fitzgerald.

The dirtiest picture ever to appear on Robot Toast.

Zion National Park

The largest free standing arch in the US. Zion National Park.

I was always a hit with the ladies.

Mmmm, LocoPops.
